August 3 – 5
At Ponderosa Cove Campground in the El Dorado National Forest.
We will have a rabbi-led CBS Shabbat Service under the stars!  Also… singing, s’mores and more! During the day there will be hiking, boating and swimming available. Stumpy Meadows Reservoir is right across the street from the campground and is stocked with fish. You will need to bring your own (non-motorized) boat. Spending time in nearby Georgetown (15 minutes away) during the day is also an option or you can drive to the Marshall Gold Discovery State Park in Coloma (about 20 minutes away).
The campground is located approximately 14 miles east of Georgetown (about 2 hours from Sacramento). The drive does get a bit winding as you drive through the mountains to get to the campground, but it is easy to find. The cost is only $25 for the weekend (not including food).
Ponderosa Cove Campground won’t come up on Google Maps, so you can Google directions to Stumpy Meadows Reservoir. As you drive up to the campsite and Stumpy Meadows Reservoir on Wentworth Springs Road (heading east from Georgetown), the Reservoir will come up first on your right, and very soon after the campground will come up on your left (there’s a big sign).

Click here for Google Maps directions (from the temple). There is an option to choose to come via I-80 or I-50.
